GSGS Partners with One World Play Project in Giving Campaign
One World Play Project believes in the transformational power of play. They turn this conviction into reality by bringing the opportunity to play to disadvantaged youth in refugee camps, disaster areas and other communities around the world.
GSGS is proud to announce that they’re joining forces with One World Play Project in their Play Together giving campaign designed to deliver ultra-durable One World Futbols to refugee kids around the world. These balls never need a pump and never go flat!
GSGS has committed to matching up to 50 balls purchased during the campaign. When donors purchase a ball for $25, GSGS will donate a matching ball. If they purchase a ball for $39.50, GSGS will donate a ball and One World Play Project will donate a ball, as well.
One World Play Project is the brainchild of Tim Jahnigen and his wife, Lisa Tarver. The company uses play to teach conflict resolution, gender equality, health awareness and other skills. They believe play empowers and provides hope, opportunity and optimism to youth devastated by war, disaster, and poverty.
The first thing the project did was to create an ultra-durable soccer ball. These balls are both the symbol and the instrument of One World Play Project’s power-of-play initiative. By 2014, the company had contributed more than one million One World Futbols to communities around the world.
GSGS President Chris Sturm says, “We’ve seen the positive effect that something as simple as a soccer ball can have on kids living in difficult situations. That’s why we’ve undertaken this giving project. We will match your contribution and deliver a ball to the refugee kids around the world who need all the support we can give. Help us deliver play – and hope!”
